Poetry: Lust & Passion
When Wishes go Silent
by D. Bopp

What good is a heart that is broken
small and frail,
What is it for again?
What good is a soul that is empty
a hole never filled
I forget, where does this go?

Humpty Dumpty fell down and no one could put him together again
They peered at his pieces strewn upon the ground and knew that their ignorance was the true sin

What good is a faith that is shattered
Broken in pieced that can never be whole
I’m sure is was great in its prime
What good is a human who does not feel
a sponge that soaks in but never releases
Someone should to put this doll away.

Humpty Dumpty fell down and no one could put him together again
They peered at his pieces strewn upon the ground and knew that their ignorance was the true sin
