Poetry: Lust & Passion
Tree days
by Brett Rader

Happy day, brightest light
Coming out from the darkest night
I walked outside, coo-coo--coooo
The rooster crowed--he was crowing for you!

Sneaking out, the sunrise glare
Where are you? Can't find you? Are you there!
Suddenly I look, and surprise to me,
You're sitting up in our favorite oak tree!

We were on top of that tree like birds on a tree
ready to fly away like birds that fly
And in the golden morning, you looked at me
and said "WWhy do we cry? I don't want to CRY!"

A tear fell down your eye and to the ground
without a sound
I said, looking into your eyes of green,
"we cry because sometimes people are mean"

Just keep thinking positive and you'll be happy
Sitting in a tree with the sun
And crying won't be bad, but happy
Like crying that's good, laughing crying!
All - together - in - my - tree
With you
One of our special summer days
