Poetry: Lust & Passion
Empty Barn
by Vinny

I have become
The faded oak planks of a too long empty barn in a cold Winter's rain.
The longing, the suffering, the Ecstasy, and pain
Of countless hours spent in waiting for the touch of her soft kiss
Have beaten down my heart, have brought me down to this.
"She belongs to another, and yet belongs to me?
How could this happen?
How could this be?"
Thanking God that he allowed me to meet this woman of my dreams,
And cursing him for letting all this pain seep from my beams.
Praying for the soft and muffled silence of the snow to fall
Upon whats left of my weak soul, perhaps to end it all
In a silent crash no one will hear.
Perhaps when she comes this way again, and see's my demise,
Perhaps then....she will shed a tear,
Maybe look up to the skies,
And wish that she'd been here,
To save me from this ruin.
I have become.
