Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
The Rose
by Tom Weaver

If my love were a rose, I'd smell oh so sweet.
I'd be the prettiest flower you'd ever want to meet.
,My blooms would be so beautiful, streaching for the noon day sun.
And when I think of true love, honey your the only one.
My stem would be strong and willow bending in the southern breeze.
Just as my love for you, I'd bend over backwards to please.
My roots would be thick and long searching for the water below, just as my love for you, to help our relationship grow.
So please don't pick me from the ground and put me in a vase.
If I should ever lose your love, a broken heart I can't
replace.
So when my leaves are turning brown and my days on earth are through.
Just remember how beautiful I once was, and how very much I loved you.
