Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
A Poem of Waiting
by Nicole Nance

I saw you once,
in a darkened room,
that suddenly became light,
the tasks of boredom, weariness, hate ,
vanished from my soul
Then I saw her, your lovely mate,
and malice filled my heart,
I wanted to kill, to hurt to die,
My dream was falling apart.

And then an angel descended to me
and told me not to fear,
that she would leave us
and my fear would vanish slowly
so I watched and waited for oppurtunity,
the moment to make my move,
and yet she was still there,
his passion was removed,
she had scarred him,
left broken to me
and now I must save him
and bring him to me
so he does not die of despair,
how can I save him If I cannot even expel this air?
