Silver Wolf
by Jennifer

As I walked alone a wooded trail, I saw a shadow following me. A wolf, silver in the moon light with glowing eyes as white and bright as a full moon on the darkest night. I see him out the Conner of my eye. Silvery and sleek...beautiful. I feel his presence getting closer, drawing nearer to me. Watching, waiting for the right time. He watches the wood around us. Sniffing the dense dank air, sensing what's around .I loose him the shadows. He's gone. Then He's right in front of me blocking the trail. I can't go around him. I can't turn back the way I came. Going back to what I was fleeing. He stands there looking at me as if is looking for a weakness. Searching my soul. I stand perfectly still not wanting to antagonize him into attacking. Maybe he will go away and leave me alone. But he takes a step closer. My heart races pumping adrenaline thru me. My breaths become fast and shallow. His eyes never leaving mine. He draws me to him, to his soul. I feel him enter my thoughts. Calming, loving, warm. How could such a savage and wild sprite be so tame and misunderstood? For two souls to wander around lost in search of something, someone. To meet on a lonely wooded trail and know they are found. That they can finally walk in the sunlight that dogged them for so long. For two souls to know instantly this is the soul for me. Even though we are so different. But knowing that it can work.... and it does!!
