Sitting here in the dark I feel cool air all around
my soul feels lost but amazingly I am found
a bright shining star grabs me and leads me by the hand
it leads me from the dark, cool, mysterious land
a land that I felt would be my home, where all the lost souls seem to roam

A haze beings to form around my mysterious friend…it then fades into the mist
I am now scared again
I run trying to find the my guide, my one and only friend

I search everywhere
I search high and low for the mysterious image that gave me such light
just as I am about to give up hope and consider it lost a voice calls to me
the way it calls my name is comforting almost like a voice I have heard before

I continue to look crawling high and low searching for my nighttime companion
I want that feeling it gives me when I am in it’s presence
I follow the voice for what seems like eternity, but it was only a moment or so
I finally see a glowing beacon standing on the forest floor, I feel saved, lost no more
I follow it’s glowing trail, I run to it to feel secure and safe once more
finally I reach the trails end and my eyes squint for all the light

There is sunshine, where there was darkness beautiful landscapes with water
the air was crisp and clean and fresh not stale with fear and hopelessness
I place me feet on the warm dew caressed grass
afraid to come out into the light, my guide calls to me he tell me things will be fine

I step out from the dark dreary forest
I squint my eyes, the light is intense I feel the rays of the beautiful sun upon my face
I heard the songs of mother nature and the chorus of birds of every race
I call to the one that has lead me from the night and brought me to beautiful things
things I have only dreamt about in my dreams
my eyes now start to focus on the one I tried so hard to find

I blink to make sure I can grasp the figure before my very eyes
but before I can be sure of what I see and wake up from my dreams and he is right in front of me
You and I know him well and I call him by name. Because of you I will no longer be the same
you were my light that lead me from the dark
the one that changed my life
my beacon shinning in the dark
