Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
(How did I get) So Lucky
by Jill Kerman

Our shadows on the sidewalk shift
As the sun moves across the sky
You say you're in love with me
You should know that I feel it, too
There's nowhere in the world I'd rather be
Than right here, right now with you
The sun decides to set; you take me in your arms
I've never been more sure; you're the only one
I can't believe this feeling belongs to me.
How did I get so lucky?
I'm dreaming of the day that I can fall sound asleep
Hearing your heartbeat
The sound of your breath echoes in my ears
My worries are few and so are my tears
I can't believe this feeling belongs to me
How did I get so lucky?
