Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
good friends
by Luke Milam

We started out as strangers,
Glancing now and then,
Soon we started talking,
This led to being friends.

Then as time went by,
And our friendship grew,
We then became a couple,
And my only thoughts were of you.

Every minute I spent with you,
I treated it like the last,
But as time grew,
Nothing was like the past.

Soon problems grew,
And our love turned to hate,
Then hate turned to fury,
And our friendship started to break.

Now we have moved on,
But you're with me day and night,
Even though we have those days,
When we intend to fight.

So as we move on,
To never kiss again,
I want you to know from this day on,
We'll always be good friends.
