Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
Clear
by Rach McGregor

I lie awake alone in my bed,
So many voices screaming in my head.
As I think of ways to sort them out,
I remember the voices that brought me doubt.
Going through life and showing no care,
may seem to others not to dare.
As some of them wonder and some turn away,
leading people to beleive they are unafraid.
Showing no emotions, alive yet thoughtless
is sometimes better than living and getting dissed.
Many times life gets so rough,
to the point where you think you've had enough.
Threating thoughts passes through your head,
most of them wishing that you were dead.
These different issues make up a test,
which will help you to be the very best.
Insecurities and doubt may bring you down,
life with these causes a depressed frown.
Depending on others such as your friends,
sometimes might turn their back in the end.
Even though you had their trust,
they leave you behind like a bag of dust.
Then there are those who stand by your side,
a special friendship that can't be untied.
As the voices are becoming clear,
I realize it's me, then shed a tear.
Now I'm going through life
with my head held high and showing no strife.
Many times life gets hard,
but you have to just keep playing it by card.
Since life is not written in text,
We are left to wonder what is next.
