Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
A Gift Of Faith
by Londa

My husband is my best friend, my companion, and my mate
I thank the lucky stars that there is such a thing as "fate"
Could it be an answered prayer thrown down from up above?
Feeling that wonderful feeling that could only be called LOVE

Sharing our priceless talks and the precious tears
Knowing he will be there to help ease my fears
Is he my soul mate, that some may say
Others may just laugh, shake their head, and walk away

For those of you who have been hurt, walked on or abused
Knowing the love you gave someone, has been selfishly used
I know the feeling of loneliness, the feeling of despair
Hiding the bruises, covering it up, pretending it's not there

The day will come you'll lose the fears of starting something new
Take a chance with that special friend that fate will bring to you
Allow the time to get to know what a special friend you have
Life and laughter, love and faith, will get you on the path

My prayer for you is a gift that holds your inner strength and faith
Allowing time to heal your pain, true love will always wait
Countless memories you'll go through from ghosts out of your past
That special friend you'll finally meet won't let those memories last
