Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
The Truest Wish
by Cassy Vash

Is it true?
Am I free?
Free from this prison of mine
That has held me here since the day I arrived
Arriving with a gift for someone close to me
A gift that would be with me until I met you
Oh, how sweet this could be
This story I am creating in my mind of you and me
But the beginning
Where shall I start?
With I love you
With a kiss
With a stare
With a smile
With me and you
With you and me
Where shall I say the beginning is of this fairytale of mine?
That lets me sleep peacefully through the night
With your arms around me
But this sweet dream
Oh, how I want it
To be our reality
But the dream starts to fade here
As my night time wishes come to an end
And reality stands knocking at my door
To wake me up to this world of mine
That shadows my thoughts and hopes
And leaves me with dread
But then
The dream comes back to me
And I breathe
And I day dream about what you and I could be
Together forever
And then it hits me
A dream is just a dream
A wish is just hope behind it
And my love for you is singled out
As you walk by with her
My love is alone and deep
As deep as the deepest ocean
The love I have for you runs through my veins
And out of my eyes
As I image you with her
The I love yous
The kiss
The stare
The smile
The her and you
The you and her
Maybe I shall right a love story
But I know
In my heart
That your love will always be for another
And not the shy girl weeping in her bed
Wishing the sun would go down
So she can dream
Once again
Of love that her heart will always wish for
But never truly receive
