Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
Far but not forgotten
by Melissa

Title: Far but not forgotten
Author: Melissa

So many miles away
It makes me think of the good old days

those days we use to chill and play
why couldn’t it stay that way

laughing joking and actin a fool
all and every day at school

but now where so far apart
who do I turn to when it gets dark

no shoulder around the corner to cry on
now I have to cry through the phone
but sometimes all I get is a dial tone

can’t we go back to the old times
when if I was needed I could be there at the drop of a dime

now so far away
it may take a couple of days
and no one knows how long I can stay
but just for a little while will be ok

don’t worry you are missed
and do know that you will never be DISSED

some days I just think
and my heart shrinks

about the good old days
and how fast they went away

hopefully we’ll have some more
and you know ur always welcome at my door
and in my car

race has no means
there is no line in between
with both of us together we make a great team

now it’s time to grow up
and man we been through much

work, school, and new friends are what is on our mind
but the old friend still get a little time
and a phone call once and a while is fine

and I be tryin to stay in touch
but you do know that your missed much

time goes on
but our friendship is never done
so don’t say bye, adios, or cya just say 1
cause our friendship shines bright like the sun

and till the next time we meet
always live your life to a happy beat.
