Poetry: Friendship & Soulmates
My True Friend
by Derek Ronald Locke

Friends come and friends go
But true friends, they will always show
They are there for support at every bend
And always loyal until the end

I have loved and lost many of my friends
But my heart always seems to mend
Because I will always still have you
To lean on when others aren't as true

This world we live in is so cold
But I'm okay 'cause I have you to hold
You always stay by my side
To me you have never even lied

Our enemies surround us at every turn
But from their mistakes we shall learn
How to love and how to hate
In this world we can't escape

You're a true friend and never fake
You are there for support when my heart breaks
I can't say more to you my friend
Thank you for being there unto the end
