Why You Can't Love Me
by Katheine Spear

I stood beside you and watched as she went by.
I put my arm around you and held you as you cried.

I thought of you just about everyday,
when you left me for her and chose to walk away.

I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, cuz you were always on my mind,
thinking about you with her and the way you left me behind.

As we lay holding eachother closely, I feel tears roll down your face,
and I realize for right now.. I am in just the right place.

It makes me so angry when I see how bad she hurts you
and I am of little consulation, no matter what I do.

My heart is so open to you, but your love is not for me
and I have to realize we were never meant to be.
