Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
A broken child
by katie hunter

you are born to live,
you are born to die,
so what's the point in living,
when all she wants to do is die,
she is dreaming,
but she is awake,
can you hear cry,
she screams,
but silence,
no screaming is aloud,
no one can hear her,
they may think shes to loud,
can you hear that,
quit,
that's the sound of a broken child,
a child no one understands,
look at her arms,
can you see them scars,
look at her heart,
that's were the reel scars are,
if you saw her you would think,
that's a happy child,
but open your eyes,
and then realize,
its all an act,
she's warring a mask,
she know's people care,
that's why shes scared,
its fear,
fear of people knowing,
people knowing just how much,
she want's to die,
she dose not want to leave them,
but she doesn't have a choice,
today she sat in silence,
its the last day she has that chance.
