Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Unknown
by melissa

when i look into your eyes i feel pain,

pain i can't endure,

pain i must bear across my forearm to show the world how i feel.

Just the feel of the smooth, sharp razor across my silky flesh,

i feel the burning sensation i rave for when i'm alone,

when i'm not with you,

i don't want to hurt you when i finish it off,

when theres no more pain to endure,

i slit my throat and breathe warm blood
gushing out of my body, into my lungs waiting to collapse.

i try to run but i am too weak to get help,

and just before i die i say to you,

i love you, and i'm sorry i hurt you.

and just as i say that i wake up from my nightmare,

and see your face here to save me.

you are my knight in shining armor,

and i want the world to know how i feel.
