Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing

by Beth

The love you did not return I found in someone else
No longer was I to be kept on someone's shelf
To be taken out and played with like a doll
That's not love, no life to be lived at all.

Through all the hurt, and all the pain and all the letting go.
I learned a lesson and I wanted you to know...
That sometimes there's chaos in the echoes of the night.
Sometimes there's fear that causes us to take flight.

But without the speed bumps
The road signs on the way.
In a wrong love, wrong life
Wrong relationship we'd stay.
I'm thankful for the pain I endured
Because now forever I can be assured
Of my love for another,
and his love for me.
God always has a plan
And in His plan, in this love, with another, I shall always be.
