Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
It's Fate
by Steven Squire

Its something I always felt around you
now things have changed so fast
Its like this never even happend
but the feeling seems to last
Somewhere in you is a part of me
you decided just to forget
But I can tell you keep something secret
Undone, you would admit
Its funny how you can look in these eyes
and now not feel a thing
when just months ago each quiet night
these eyes meant everything
You've found yourself this brand new life
new love, new strength, new tears
But then tell me why you've comeback now
and why you keep coming here
I've been trying hard to live again
ever sense that day
you crushed my heart and gave me hell
In tears, you rushed away
All the pain was almost gone
the feeling nearly numb
Now before my eyes is that very girl
telling me to come
Her secrets out I always knew
she did in fact miss me
All this time she was waiting to
again our love is free
But I know it and she knows it to
this dream will never last
Again we'll wake to the sound of fate
and have to leave behind the past
It's fate, it's fate, it's just our fate
