Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
words...unsaid
by Marcus Klausenburger

I once knew a man
who had lost all hope
he wouldn't show
his face anywhere

A woman had left him cold
packed up and left his home
the burden seemed
too much to bear

I say it 'cause a long time ago
the first time I held you close
it all seemed
so easy to see

No words would describe
and no one could deny
the spark between
you and me

But as time passed by
we finally realized
that together it just
seemed so plain

Although we both loved
when push came to shove
it just wasn't worth
all of the pain

But when I think about that man
and those times that we spent
together, oh yeah,
just me and you

It seems so sad
to wonder if it had last
but I know there's
nothing more I can do

So now I say,
Freedom, freedom, oh freedom
are words better left unsaid
Freedom, freedom, oh freedom
thoughts of you run all through my head.
