Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Missing You
by Sabrina

Met you one year ago and I thought you were the one.
Insisted that by us being together our love would never be undone.
Saw the signs but I paid them no mind.
Sacrifices I made even when I was in a bind.
It took a long time to decide that we should break up.
Never thought you would go freely with no intentions of making up.
Gave you my broken heart and you just kept it apart.

You never tied to heal it.
Only tore it bit by bit.
Unique was what I thought you were.

Instead you turned out to be what others used to say. And after all of this, I’m still missing you day after day.
