Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Our Final Farwell
by Bruce Snider

As I wiped the tears from my eyes,
the rain began to fall.
I watched you walk away from view,
your name I longed to call.
Your hair glistened in the night,
as lightning split the sky.
It was at that moment I realized,
that this was our last goodbye.

And though we never told each other
the things we long thought true.
Our actions spoke loud enough,
but we never said the words "I love you".

And now you say it's over,
and your leaving me here in the rain.
Standing here suffering,
withering in pain.

And as the emptiness inside me,
slowly begins to swell.
Tears run down my face at this,
Our Final Farwell.
