Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Nothing
by Courtney A. Wilson

Now it all means nothing.
Nothing is what our love has become.
Nothing is how you feel about me.
Nothing I can do, Nothing I can say
Nothing to live for, Nothing to die for
Nothing to lose.
Nothing seems to be going my way.
There's nothing to stop my incredible depression,
Such intense sorrow over you-
Who feels nothing.
And nothing is going to get me past this drought?
A drought that's now flooding
with waves of salty thick tears.
Nothing is wrong with me.
Everything is wrong with you
for treating me like
Nothing.
For seeing nothing in me
and for whispering promises in my ear
that turned out to be "sweet little nothings."
And no matter how much it kills me to know
that nothing will become of you and me,
I still would want nothing more than to be with you-
Even if it means
Nothing.
