Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Died For Love
by jolene gonzalez

In my room which I dwell,
I met a guy for whom I fell.
He came and took my heart from me,
and now he wants to set it free.
So upstairs to my room I fled,
without a word to my mommy had I said,
Daddy came home late that night,
he searched for me both left and right.
Then up the stairs was my door he broke,
to find me hanging from a rope.
He got a knife to cut me down,
but below me was a knife he found....(it said)
Dig my grave,
Dig it deep.
Place a statue at my feet.
Up above,
Place a dove,
Show the world how I died for love.
