Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Empty
by Shelby Lyons

Holding onto my heart, crushing it tight. Trying to push out the memories...Remember last night?
The pain that ran through my fingers through your hair and into your mind remember that? I'll always
remember, but only for a short time.

Forgetting how you made me feel, ecstacy is for real.
Closing off your emotions refusing to open up... Shutting you off from my temple
keeping it closed... Hoping you will go away.. Far away far from my mind.

Sliding my hand through your hair and smiling softly, knowing inside I'm numb. Too
numb to feel too numb too care I just want you to get this over with.. It hurts me..
I can't even bare to look in my mirror.. A Disgrace of life an image of sin. Knowing
where it happened but can't find out where it will begin.

Feeling your hands on my skin.. Pulling apart my dignity throwing it away.
Knowing it didn't mean shit to me.. My trust doesnt exist, but I try to forget
this..

Trying to push out the memories...Remember last night? The pain that ran through
my fingers through your hair and into your mind remember that? I'll always remember
but only for a short time...Remember my mind, hurting inside...
