Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Neglected, again
by Jamie

The second I first saw you in the school hallway, everything dissapeared.
No noisy students, no teachers yelling, the hall had completely cleared.
One vision of you, was all it took
One sight of your face, a single look.
Now im confused and tragically hooked.
I knew you were the very first boyfriend I really ever had.
The first guy to make me happy and the first guy to get me mad.
After awhile things got kinda weird.
Thoughts of you breaking my heart, I often feared.
At first you know, we were hot and heavy.
Then it got really serious, we started going steady.
Your friends liked me and we all hung out.
I gave up my friends for yours, without a doubt.
We were the popular couple, we were always as one,
Always at the football games hand in hand, I thought this was goin to be fun.
After awhile you started changing, having other things to do.
Never calling me, droppin by, it felt we were through.
I tried talkin to you in the hallways, sayin our old famous.."Hey Sugar Pie"
But you would just turn your head, and talk to your boys, I felt I was going to die.
Eventually, you came around, started calling again and such.
I asked you what had happend, and that I missed you way too much.
You said, you had alot of things on your mind, and you were just going through a change.
I guess he didn't realize, he had made my life rearranged.
Things got better, we were back to normal for awhile at least.
About a month passed and it had happend again, he had turned into this beast.
I felt so out of touch, not loved anymore,
I guess there was no way to win,
This time.. I had realized,
I had been neglected, again.
