Song In A Mist
by Ross H. Bruce
Song In A Mist
I once traveled to this forest of love and lust,
Where my shadow became my foe and friend.
Then I heard the song in the gentle breeze
But had forgotten it to the celestial mist.
How my emotion ripples upon the calm riverbed,
Like flowers swaying smoothly with the leaves.
O how they mesmerize my heart and soul
As I reminisce the gentleness I once knew.
And for each leaf that falls on this forest of life,
A flower withers then dies in vain.
Like a song of passion that is out-of-rhyme,
The rhythm of truth can never be the same.
Alas! I have to search the woods from the trees
To build a home to this forest I once grew.
So the flowers can dance gently with the leaves
From the song that was lost to the mountain dew.
