Thief
by Christie Flanagan
My heart is my home,
locked up tight in my chest.
You're leaving to go,
just like all of the rest.
And not that I care,
but you are quite the thief;
Broke in on a dare,
stole my heart,
and left grief.
I could beg and plead,
take back what you stole.
Even I can see an unfillable hole.
What use would it be
I'm afraid I can't fight.
So take it and flee,
if it makes you feel right.
