Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
The days are longer...
by Karolina Jakubowska

The days are longer and darker
No faces on the streets and no sounds
But the howl of the freezing gale
It seems as though the earth has given up its will to reproduce
And has come to her final end

This is what loneliness feels like
No more expressions
Good or bad,
Just an empty body with no soul intact
Stuck in a dark box
With but a gleam of light peaking in
Enought to stay alive
Yet not enough to want to live.
