Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
Rain Drops
by Erin

Raindrops fall silently down,
Slowly splashing unto the ground,
The tears from heaven drop and plop ,
It seems they will never stop,

Thoughts flood into my mind,
About all the past times,
I think of you and how things used to be,
I remember how much you meant to me,
"Its time to move on, we've drifted apart,"
Are the words you used to shatter my heart,
I confessed things are different from the start,
But I wanted to stay with you as long as I could,
When I was with you my life seemed good,
I promised to love you until the end,
Still the love between us was no more then friends,
To stay together would be living a lie,
You looked me in the eyes and asked me not to cry,
You kissed my cheek and then goodbye,
You are the reason I am who I am today,
With out you I would've turned out another way,
You said I'd always be apart of you too,
But we both knew this was what we had to do,

One day the rain will stop,
And cheerful flowers will bloom,
New flowers will have a chance to grow,
Into something lasting and true.
