Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
That Day
by Jessica

The smile was real, honest, and true
Then after that day it all simply went blue
It was once so genuine never, ever phony
But after that day it seemed cold and lonely
And to this day this clever disguise
Hides the pain that's thriving inside
No matter its concept meaning or purpose
All it will do is continue to hurt us
Even its lost, naive owner
Who simply wishes That Day wasn't over.
