Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
creating lines
by jerry

Creating Lines
It's me again with pen in hand,
writing across this virgin page.
Tracing thoughts, erasing names
twisting words to mean different things.
Burning ink, on what I say
slowly white turns to grey.
Creating lines, as I think
side to side I feel this page.
Through my eyes, the soul escapes
through my hand is how I speak.
The body dies, the heart will break
that moment in time will come someday.
Broken branch, family tree
from where I found I came to be.
Raked aside, pile of leaves.
testifies to my beliefs.
I shared a vow, to high to reach
blessings from a plantted seed.
Warm the flower, mold and teach
from these pages of tired ink.
Lift the smiles, from frowns burnt deep
taste the sour, believe it's sweet.
As minutes and hours, and seconds slip
remember the love and enjoy lifes trip.
