Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
When we fall in love...
by Jessica

I am the beauty of a little girl's smile,
Her innocence so fragile and tender,
Her eyes brighter than the stars
Looking at the world with absolute trust.

I am the wonder of a teen's first love,
With all the roses and starlight dances...
When her feet don't touch the ground anymore,
And she starts to dream of more.

I am the anguish of a woman's broken heart.
Who woke up one day to find it was all a lie...
The roses are now long dead,
Sitting on the table by her bed.

I am the miracle of a woman
Who's survived a broken heart...
Still she believes
she'll find love one day.

I am just like all the rest,
Because in the end we're all the same...
Our hearts are fragile things
When we fall in love.
