Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
I hate
by Kamilah

I hate the way you smile; I hate the way you speak.
I hate it that you're happy even though you're not with me.
I hate it that you lied and like a fool I fell for it.
I hate it that my heart is broken with a wound only you can fix.
I hate that I fell in love, something that I'll never do again.
I hate the way we turned out, our relationship has reached the end.
I hate the way she stole your heart and swept you off your feet.
I hate not wanting to go anywhere, afraid that we will meet.
I hate that we made promises, to spend our lives together.
I hate myself for thinking that we would last forever.
I hate that I still love you and will always feel this way.
'Cause my life is miserable without you, No sunshine, always a rainy day.
