Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
My Forbidden Lady
by David Marteney

Indeed you are fair m’ lady.
Your skin as white as a virgin snow.
You lips as red as that sacred,
Crimson liquid.
And indeed I do long for your…
Sweet…embrace.
And of course I do wish to kiss
Those, beautiful, crimson lips.
To touch that virgin snow
But, alas, those lips, that skin,
are forbidden

Yes m’ lady you are indeed fair.
But I have limits to the amount
Of pleasure I can withstand.
For if I wrapped my hands in
That beautiful scarlet hair, I
Fear I would become lost
In the deep, emerald green, ponds
That are your eyes.

Yes M’ lady I do wish to part those
Blessed lips between your thighs.
But, of course, just like the rest of you
They are forbidden.

Why Oh why are you so forbidden
M’ lady. Why can I not approach
Your slender form and whisper my
Sweet obsession into your ear?

Because I am scared.
I am nothing but a coward
Doomed to wait and watch
My television screen
Separated by glass and
Technology
