Poetry: Heartbreak & Healing
For Victoria
by Ashley

Weren't together? well, that's a technicality
It's years ago and it's yesterday
The death of your love is a crude reality
With your heart you had to pay

Your stare still lingering in his direction
Your skin still lusting for his affection
Look away fragile bud
His poison is strong and fatal
Baby tulip amoung weeds and mud
Appears sincere, but he's no cradle

Let go dove, get it together
You've been shot down once before
Save your heart for a bird of a different feather
Not just any empty shell that floats to shore
Save us from the endless gore

His hands are rough and heart his cold
Don't cry my love this story's old
Don't be like all the flowers he's plucked before
Stand tall with thorns, f*ck him! be more!

It will be tough, we are creatures of habbit
You know what needs to be done
This relationship is over baby dont lag it
Tell him it's over and go have your fun
