The Act
by Nerys Gale
Do you remember the time when I told you no
Do you remember how you laughed at me
Do you remember how I showed  no joy
When you took the thing, made it all ugly
Do you remember the tears I cried the sounds I made
Do you remember how dead my eyes did look
Do you remember all the things you said
When my heart did break and my body you took
Do you remember when I said no again
Do you remember how you bared your teeth
Do you remember how those teeth caused pain
When my mind it finally realised the truth
I am talking to you from a deep dark place
I want you to remember the wrong you did to me
I want you to remember the agony upon my face
As you inflicted the death that finally set me free
