A Different Me
by Derek Nix
What if there was a way,
I don't know,
Just some way,
To take the heart on my sleeve away?
Would I still be me?
The reserved
And same me?
Or a shell of what I use to be?
What of me would be left?
Would there be
Anything left?
Or any part of me to accept?
For my eyes would quickly blur.
A stinging,
Blinding blur.
And I will surely never find her.
What if there was a way,
I don't know,
Just some way,
To take this heart on my sleeve away?
