Poetry: Unrequited Love
A Day At The Park
by Eric Grayson

We went to the park today
The one we walked the day away
The day before our son was born
That was the day I was sworn
Sworn to you till the day I died
The next day, when he was born, I cried
I watched Bryce play for hours
Remembering when these times used to be ours
I finally reaized I need to stop living for me and start living for my son
And only pray that one day we can all be one
A family is most important to me
But if you don't want it, I guess thats how it has to be
I can't make you love me, you only know the old
I am different now, but telling you, I can't be sold
If only you could take the chance to see
The 100% new and improved me
But like I said, I can't make you do anything
So I want you to remember just one thing
I'll love you till the very end
And if I can't be your lover, I want to be your friend
But, I would rather grow old together
And stick it out through the stormy weather
But, you have found somebody new
And left me here alone, sad and blue
But, I will make it, for my son I will make it
It's just, I miss you so much, that I can't take it
I just want my family together again
But, in the end, it's up to you, my....... friend?
