Poetry: Unrequited Love
Never Been a Need
by Jason Snedegar

I’m outside driving in the rain
Trying to clear these visions that
Are driving me insane
Although your gone from here
My thoughts always seem to
Keep you near

I’ve never tried to forget you
There’s never been a need
But for her sake I need to move on
Now there seems to be a need

When I close my eyes
Your smile is all is see
Before you left you smiled
At me and said be strong
There’s not enough time on this world
To help me get over you

Now that I’ve tried to forget you
My heart now knows for sure
No one can fill the emptiness you made
I know now that I can’t move on
And still it seems to me
There’s never been a need
