From Lover to Friend
The debacle only lasted 6 months, or less
caused me great strain, undo stress
listened to lies, stories that didn't add up
made me wanna holla, what the f**k?
the stench of another blatant lie, poor excuse
how long can one endure such emotional abuse?
ok, ok abuse is a bit of an exaggeration
but it doesn't lessen my indignation
so, we part and went our separate ways
with a decision to remain friends, ok.
not an issue for me at least,
felt less like a break-up,
more like the taming of a beast
the wild tiger, now a domesticated cat
a wonderful friendship, and that's a fact,
we should have been friends,
lovers, we were never meant to be
failed lovers, successful friends
that's what was meant for you and me
