Poetry: Unrequited Love
Enduring the Light
by Vinny G

Sunlight plays across the floor,
Scattered bits of sparkling light
Dance across the dreary wall.
The warmth annoys me,
Casts a glaring irony
Across this barren pall.
The table there, where once you graced this room,
Had your morning coffee, tasted sweetness
In our love, now sits abandoned,
A testament to this dark gloom
That waits before me, and above...
The cursed rooms, where still
I sometimes find your hair
While scrubbing at my bleak despair.
The bed where I must try to sleep,
But only toss, and turn, and weep.
The brutal truth that you're not there,
Streaming through the window panes,
Tortures me with searing flames.
