Poetry: Unrequited Love
In your absence
by Judy

I've been wondering, if I can be a part of your life?
Even if it is only for a few stolen moments.

How do I settle for little bits and pieces of you?
When, I find myself desiring so much more of you.

Do you smile when you think of me?
As I often smile throughout the day of thoughts of you.

I wonder, do you cling to the sound of my voice?
While the sound of your voice warms my soul.

Have you forgotten how I care for you?
While I question myself, do you care the same for me?

I wonder, have you forgotten how I feel?
While all I can think of is how you feel in my arms.

Do you long for hugs and kisses?
Do you crave my touch and the passion we have shared?
For I dream restlessly of being in your arms and feeling your passion.

And then reality settles in.
I'm reminded that I have no right to have these feelings.
We pledged our hearts to others who would not understand.
Did they see or choose not to see
our cries to feel all of these things again with them?
In their absence, we found each other for a few stolen moments.
