Poetry: Unrequited Love
I'm Sorry
by April Paul

In some ways or another...
I wish I could go back to my old life-
Those nights I couldn't stop thinking about you...
When you last broke up with me...
Those times I'd see you and my heart would just melt me from inside...

I never did believe in giving second chances-
But ever since we broke up it just seemed to me...
That it was really meant to be...
So I made an exception...

That night...
My knees got weak with just one kiss...
And I knew I finally had my chance...

For that second chance...

Then my wish came true...
And I got it!

And things didn't go the way I had planned...
I don't know how or why it really ended this way...
But I guess you just have to move on and say...

Some things aren't meant to be.

I can't just go on my computer and push ‘Undo'...
For the pain I have given you...
I can't just take everything back...

And I know there will never be a world where none of this exists...

So as a friend...
I apologize to you...
With all of my passion...
And all of my gratitude.

I'm sorry.
