Poetry: Unrequited Love
To My BABY
by BMC

Seems as if an eternity has passed
Since last I saw your beautiful smiling face
Time has begun to heal and mend my heart
But the memories of you I cannot erase

I long for the days when I held you
Close and near in my open arms
Caressing you and sharing tender moments
Protecting you from life's harms

My mind endlessly wanders
Of what we have shared in the past
I know it was meant for us
To endure and always last

My heart knows your doing
What you feel is needed right now
Yet I know a part of you feels
Forgetting me you cannot allow

Every moment we shared together
Rings and chimes fondness in my heart
I know all that we have truly shared
Was the beginning of a brand new start

Many moments I have sat
In a silence like a deep cold trance
All I ever hoped for was for us
To have our true chance

You meant so much to me
In each and every perfect way
I never thought I would be alone
Without our chance to share another day

Many times I have lost my breath
Wondering of how you are
Yet I know if I contact you
It may only create just another scar

I hope for our day to come
To rejoice in our greatest bliss
The thing I crave the most
Is the taste of your sweet kiss

I can only hope for the one day
You want once again for us to be together
Sharing in our great happiness
Not for just a moment, but always and forever
