Poetry: Unrequited Love
Autum Air
by Donna Langston

The sun is shining down with a glare
And you can feel autum in the air
Crickets sing and the nite air is cool
Wishing you did"t have to quit swimming in the pool
It's time for fall to began
Only to leave flowers to die once again
Winter is just around the ben
Then you'll find yourself warm in the den
Snow will fall suddenly and quickly
First thing you know, roses are prickly
Spring will come and spring will go
But... often love is found the same way
You've loved and then you've lost
A broken heart it did cost
It's a very lonely time fall and winter
Broken hearts tho' you'll remember
The sun is shining down with a glare
And you can feel heartbreak in the air.
