Poetry: Unrequited Love
The Wind
sojournie

The comfortable sun hides on this winter afternoon,
allowing the chilling wind to pierce his pores,
progressively bringing pieces of her to seep into his drifting soul.
He can feel her warm presence, smell her serene skin,
and as he opens his eyes, he only sees her empty silhouette in the chilling wind.

But the relentless wind pushes him to shut his helpless eyes once again,
and to chase shadows once again.

He can hear her contagious laugh, taste her tender kiss
as the wind whooshes past his crimson ears and cracks his blistered lips.

But the wind weakens to a breeze, and altogether retreats back to her.
The clouds break, and the day grows beautiful,
while he anxiously longs for the wind.
