Poetry: Unrequited Love
A Day like any other day
by Leigha Mcfarland

It was a day like any other day
a morning like the others
but it changed by the afternoon
because the tv had something to tell us

A plane had hit the trade center
the twin buildings have been hit
just one look at the tv screen
i knew that this was it

A fiery gazecovered the towers
and the people covered in soot
when the tv showed how many we lost
i didnt wanna look

i could tell by the looks in their eyes
that they were really scared
i would have been freaking out too
if i had been there

but theres hope from some of us
that makes us all stand strong
and a prayer that keeps us alive
and healthy all day long

A plane may have hit the towers
our nation and our hearts
but one thing it cannot do
is rip our country apart

Our country wont be taken
and niether will our pride
our justice and hope is something we keep
thats errupting from inside

So we'll fight into the night
for our country made of gold
our allegience,and our rights
aren't just stories that've been told

So thank you God,for our hope
thats kept us through the day
our flag stands tall, through it all
GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!
