Poetry: Unrequited Love
Remembering Our Love
by Brian Sugano

Remember the day
I took you in my arms
and carried you home.
Remember the times
we exchanged poems,
poems of unconditional emotion.
Do you remember
the sunset on the horizon,
together professing our love?
I remember.

I remember the night
in which we fell asleep
holding each other closely.
I remember the day
I came home tired,
and you gave me sweet dreams.
I remember, when
the first words you said to me were,
"I love you".

You changed the way I felt,
as if everyday I had you,
whispering in my ear,
those sweet, sweet words.
Now I know
how to express them to you,
All I have to say is
"I love you too"
