Poetry: Unrequited Love
Yesterday's Love
by Dimaris

Laying here in the dark
Dreaming of all the yesterdays that I had with you
Times of laughter and joy
Simplying being with you was such a pleasure
Looking at you with all my love that was just yours for the taking
As time went goes all those dream faded
But I keep them in my heart as memories

Now I dream of new dreams
Not with you but of me being alone and longing for you
Couldn’t you see how much you meant to me?
How it hurt so much not having you by my side
I would have waited for you if you had given me a sign
I felt we were inseparable just loving each other fully and not holding back
You were everything I wanted
But I didn’t think I would have lost you so soon
I needed you in my life to love and to hold
Why couldn’t you see that for yourself when others saw it?

My friends tell me to let you go but how can I
When I still want you and care for you
Loving you was so easy but letting you go is turning out to be harder
For my heart still calls for you
While my mind wants to hates you for doing this to me
But I can’t
For you closed your heart to me or maybe
You never opened it in the beginning like you said
Only time will tell with you and me
I just hope it wouldn’t be late for us.
